He was born in Kobe, Japan but he and his father moved to New York when he was eleven. After he got kicked out of his house by his father because Taichi is gay, he becomes Mariko's roommate. He hopes to become a lawyer so he can help gay kids in difficult circumstances. In reality, he can't pay for his school and time is ticking. 

After her former talent agency in Tokyo tried to make her do a nude photo shoot  (the photobook was supposed to be named, "The Invasion of Godzilla Tits."), she called it a quit and moved to New York. Now she's in New York believing that someday she can make it as an actress. In reality, she speaks no English, and she has no friends.
